Terms and conditions

General terms and conditions of Corandus Books, as of October 2026.

Section 1 Scope and provider

(1) These general terms and conditions apply to all orders placed via the website corandusbooks.com. The contracting party is Corandus GmbH, Bergstr. 12, 82024 Taufkirchen, Germany. Corandus Books is the publishing imprint of Corandus GmbH, referred to below as “we”.

(2) We deliver worldwide to consumers and to businesses. A consumer is any natural person who enters into a legal transaction for purposes that are predominantly outside their trade, business or profession. A business is anyone who acts in the course of their trade, business or profession when entering into the contract.

(3) Differing terms of the customer apply only if we have expressly agreed to them.

Section 2 Conclusion of contract

(1) The presentation of books on the website is not a legally binding offer but an invitation to place an order.

(2) Each order covers one book. You fill in the order form and can check and correct your details until you submit it. By clicking “Order” you make a binding offer to buy the book.

(3) For deliveries within Germany and to other EU countries, the contract is concluded when we accept your order by sending you the invoice by email.

(4) For deliveries to countries outside the EU, we inform you by email of the shipping costs and the total price. This email is our offer. The contract is concluded when you pay the total price.

(5) We combine several orders that you place within one day into a single order.

(6) If we do not accept your order within 7 days, you are no longer bound by it.

(7) The contract languages are German and English. We store the contract text and send you the order details, these terms and conditions and the withdrawal policy by email.

Section 3 Prices and shipping costs

(1) All prices are final prices in euros and include statutory value added tax.

(2) In addition, we charge shipping costs per order: €5 within Germany and €14 to other EU countries. For deliveries to countries outside the EU, we calculate the shipping costs separately and inform you of them before the contract is concluded.

(3) Deliveries to countries outside the EU may be subject to customs duties, import VAT and other charges. These are borne by the customer.

Section 4 Payment

(1) Payment is made in advance by bank transfer or via PayPal. The bank details and the PayPal address are stated in the invoice email.

(2) The invoice amount is due within 14 days of receipt of the invoice. If payment is not received within this period, we may withdraw from the contract.

(3) We are bound by an offer under Section 2 (4) for 14 days.

Section 5 Delivery

(1) We ship with DHL to the address given in the order.

(2) The delivery time is stated on the respective book page. For bank transfers it begins on the day after you instruct your bank to make the payment, for PayPal on the day after payment.

(3) If a book is no longer available, we will inform you without delay and refund any payments already made.

(4) Signed copies and special editions with a signed print are available only in limited numbers.

Section 6 Retention of title

The book remains our property until payment has been made in full.

Section 7 Right of withdrawal

(1) Consumers have a statutory right of withdrawal. Details are set out in the withdrawal policy on the “Withdrawal” page.

(2) The right of withdrawal also applies to signed copies and special editions.

(3) The direct costs of returning the goods are borne by the customer.

Section 8 Liability for defects

(1) The statutory provisions on liability for defects apply.

(2) For businesses, the limitation period for claims for defects is one year from delivery. This does not apply in the cases set out in Section 9 (1).

(3) Please report visible transport damage to us as soon as possible. For consumers, failing to do so has no effect on their statutory rights.

Section 9 Liability

(1) We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, under the German Product Liability Act and to the extent of any guarantee we have given.

(2) In the event of a slightly negligent breach of a material contractual obligation, our liability is limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this type of contract. Material contractual obligations are obligations whose fulfilment makes the proper performance of the contract possible in the first place and on whose observance the customer may regularly rely.

(3) In all other respects our liability is excluded.

Section 10 Dispute resolution

We are neither willing nor obliged to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.

Section 11 Final provisions

(1) The law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. For consumers, this choice of law applies only insofar as it does not deprive them of the protection of mandatory provisions of the country in which they have their habitual residence.

(2) If the customer is a merchant, a legal entity under public law or a special fund under public law, Munich is the exclusive place of jurisdiction.

(3) Should individual provisions be invalid, the remainder of the contract remains valid.

(4) Information on how we process your data is set out in the privacy policy.

(5) The German version of these terms and conditions is authoritative. The English version is provided for information.
